Treanor firm designs award-winning project

A housing rehabilitation project designed by Lawrence-based Treanor Architects has received awards from Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt and the National Council of State Housing Agencies.

The project in Blue Springs, Mo. – a Dalmark Development project, supported by the Missouri Housing Development Commission – received two awards:

¢ Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing, presented Aug. 29 during the Missouri Governor’s Conference on Housing in Springfield, Mo.

¢ 2007 Award for Program Excellence in Rental Housing and Preservation and Rehabilitation, presented Sept. 17 during NCSHA’s annual conference in New Orleans.

The $12.85 million project rehabilitated the former Meadow Ridge Townhouses into reasonably priced living spaces, now named the Villas at Autumn Bend, which has 150 living units in 28 buildings, plus a community building featuring meeting space, computer center, resource room and police substation.
