From the Lawrence Daily World for Oct. 20, 1907: “Coach Bert Kennedy says he will take 21 Kansas players to Oklahoma. Kansas has a 2-0 record and is being eyed by many as one of the finest teams in the area, if not in the nation. : Last night the turnout of nearly 1,500 for the local religious revival was the largest of the week following a children’s parade earlier in the day. : Many are pleased that Missouri has agreed to play the 1908 football game against Kansas here in Lawrence. Meanwhile, St. Joseph, Mo., is making big plans for this year’s Thanksgiving Day game between the two schools in St. Joe. : The Baptists of Lawrence will rededicate their church with appropriate services this weekend. It will represent several years of earnest endeavor and sacrifice by members of the church that entailed collecting more than $15,000 to make the church building thoroughly modern. : There are due to be some tense times at the city council meeting when the street car ordinance is discussed.”
