Ex-Amateur champ on top

? Ryan Moore matched his career best with a 7-under 63 on Friday to take a three-stroke lead halfway through the Fry’s Electronics Open. Moore, the bearded 24-year-old former U.S. Amateur champion who has three second-place finishes in his three years on the tour, was at 11-under 129 on the Grayhawk Golf Club’s Raptor Course. Australian Mark Hensby shot a career-best 61 to join Ben Crane (66) and Daisuke Maruyama (65) also at 8 under.

The event’s biggest name, Phil Mickelson, shot a 70 to miss the cut by a stroke.
