Law enforcement report

¢ The Kansas University Public Safety Department is investigating an incident involving gunshots fired through windows at Lewis Hall. Two windows on the east side of Ekdahl Dinning Commons and one on the west side in the third-floor lobby were damaged. The dining area was closed and no one was injured in the shootings that occurred last weekend, police said. On Thursday, police found a shell casing outside near the building but it was not known if it was connected to the shooting, Maj. Chris Keary said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 32-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of a $1,200 men's white GT Avalanche 21-speed bicycle to Lawrence police on Tuesday. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of Vermont Street.

¢ A 40-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of several items to Lawrence police on Wednesday. Reported stolen were a Craftsmen air compressor, David Laser Elevation Transit and a Stihl Farm Boss chainsaw. The estimated value of the items is $2,400. The incident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of Iowa Street.

¢ A 39-year-old Lawrence woman reported damage to a 2004 Suzuki Forenza. The windshield was shattered and the roof was dented and scratched. The estimated damage is $1,500. The incident occurred between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of East 19th Street.

Condition reports

¢ Roy Hillebert, 48, Eudora, was treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a traffic accident Wednesday. His pickup truck hit a light pole near the Tee Pee intersection of Kansas Highways 59 and 24-40 north of Lawrence.
