Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Oct. 16, 1907: “Evangelist Biederwold set forth a number of vital ideals in his tabernacle talk in the tent in back of the Eldridge House last night and was wonderfully received. He is a noted speaker and seemed to enthrall the enthusiastic gathering. One of his major pleas was for parents to use the right influences at home to bring their children to responsible adulthood. . . . New women’s styles and garments for 1907-08 are due to be more stylish with capes in fashion again. All sorts of new coats and wraps are featured in style shows in New York.”
