The Pilot Club conducted its monthly meeting Oct. 8 at Zig and Mac’s. Club Operations presented the program, about the history of and how Pilot International works.

The University Bridge Club’s game Oct. 6 was hosted by Karmie and Edna Galle. The Blue winners were Lois Liebert, first place, followed by Ray Ikenberry, second place. Carl Schaake placed third, Walt Hicks placed fourth, and Paul Jordan and Willie Stoltenberg tied for fifth.

Pink winners were Dottie Miller, first place, followed by Carol Smith, second place. Edna Galle placed third, Jane Golden placed fourth, and Carolyn Jordan placed fifth.

The Monday Evening Bridge Club’s game Oct. 1 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South players were led by Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough, followed by Virginia Seaver and Julia Brooks. Jerry Sloan and Eldon Herd placed third, with Chuck Hedges and Yvonne Hedges at fourth in A and first in B. Chris Lane and Jeffrey Nash placed second in B, while Lester Dalton and Julia Dalton took third in B. Albert Ballard and Earle Core were first in C, followed by Pat Burgstahler and Margrete Hartman.

The East-West players were led by John Hickey and Grant Sutton, followed by Donna Johnson and Paul Heitzman. Steve Phelps and Vince Nordberg were third in A and first in B and C, with Jim Stewart and Jeremy Martin at fourth in A and second in B and C.

The North-South players were led by Jeffrey Nash and Rosemary Searcy, with John Reese and Shirley Reese at second in A and first in B. Mike Montgomery and Gary Joyce placed third in A, second in B and first in C, followed by Clarice Broz and Marilyn Martin at second in C.

The East-West players were led by Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor at first in A and B, with Virginia Seaver and Madelyn Jenks at second in A. Julia Brooks and Mona Bell were third in A, with Carol Ball and Nita Scales placing first in C.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Bridge game on Oct. 4 was directed by Chris Lane. First place was a tie between Marilyn Martin and Ann Tams with Julia Brooks and Barbara McCorkle Third place also was a tie with Pat Lechtenberg and Wanna Roszel with Jean Khatib and Bebe Huxtable.

The Friday Afternoon Bridge game on Oct. 5 was directed by Chris Lane. First place went to David Piro and Paul Heitzman, followed by Shirley Reese and Betty Collier placing second in A and first in B. Eldon Herd and Chuck Hedges placed third in A and second in B, with Madelyn Jenks and Jean Otney in fourth place in A, third in B and first in C. Sally Taylor and Klee Zaricky were fifth in A with Janice Hollowell and Debbi Bettinger at second place in C.
