4-H and FCE news

The Vinland FCE will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Vinland Methodist Church, with Margie Schutz and Paula Johnson as co-hostesses.

Johnson will give the program, “Minding Your Social P’s and Q’s.” Roll call will be answered by what type of social faux pas members have experienced.

The Meadowlark 4-H Club conducted its monthly meeting Sept. 11. Shelby Miller called the meeting to order.

It was announced that the vote for officers would be at the next meeting. The records books also will be due Oct. 1. Members also were invited to Friendship Day, which was Sept. 29 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, Building 21.

Members planned to work for the Kaw Valley Farm and discuss what to put in the Ernst Hardware window for an upcoming event.

Sarah and Elizabeth Mechem were guests at the meeting, and Sarah decided to join. Kennedy O’Dell moved to adjourn the meeting by saying the club pledge and motto; Cleo O’Dell seconded the motion.
