Mavs Volleyball Trials: Lawrence Mavs, a club volleyball team for girls ages 11-15, will conduct tryouts Nov. 4 at the Robinson Center on the Kansas University campus. ¢ Ahlen Honored: Lawrence University goalkeeper Lindsey Ahlen, a sophomore from Seabury Academy, recorded her first shutout of the season in a 6-0 win over Illinois College and earned Midwest Conference defensive soccer player of the week honors. Ahlen also made 15 saves in a 1-1 tie with Monmouth College.

¢ Naegele Weekly Winner: Mike Naegele compiled a 70 and won the Jayhawk Golf Club’s weekly net tournament Sunday at Alvamar by two strokes over Bob Losasso. Tied for third with 73s were Drew Walters, Mike Sierra and Mike Beaton. Both Kent Hodgson and Van Reichert carded 74s. Chris Anderson and Naegele shared the low gross score, each with a two-over-par 74.
