Rockies avoiding flu-stricken manager

? Matt Holliday and the Colorado Rockies had a good reason for keeping their distance from Clint Hurdle – their manager was still fighting the flu. Hurdle retreated to his home before Monday’s practice when he came down with a case of the chills. He said he wasn’t feeling much better during Tuesday’s workout at Coors Field.

The Rockies will begin the NL championship series Thursday night at Arizona.

“Obviously, nobody wants to be sick right now, so I don’t even know if he’s here,” Holliday said.
