From the Lawrence Daily World of Oct. 9, 1907: State officers continue to debate the merits of primary elections and some want to try out some system before accepting it permanently. : Two hundred women were waiting in front of the Innes store here this morning to rush in and take advantage of the bargain-priced kid glove sale. Some women arrived as early as 6 a.m. and there was a good deal of jostling and shoving, but no serious injuries. : Remember how the Rosedale-to-Lawrence rock road effort fizzled out? Well, the fellows at the other end of the road are still hammering away to get the road.”
