KU men’s golf 13th

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team placed last of 13 teams on Monday at the Windon Memorial Classic at the par-71, 6,667-yard Lake Shore Country Club.

The Jayhawks shot a three-round score of 47-over-par 899.

Junior Zach Pederson carded a final-round 75 and finished tied for 36th to lead the Jayhawks.

He shot rounds of 69, 76 and 75.

Walt Koelbel tied for 51st (76-75-74). Brad Hopfinger was 55th (80-77-77) and Nate Barbee 60th (75-78-76), while Andrew Storm notched 67th place (78-81-79).

Northwestern, the host school of the event, was able to top Kent State by one stroke to claim the team title, 848 strokes to 849.

Mike Van Sickle of Marquette and Clayton Rask of Minnesota tied for medalist honors with 206 strokes.
