The Pelathe Community Resource Center will host a community “giveaway” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the center, 1423 Haskell Ave.

Giveaway items will include clothing, household goods, office supplies and furniture. There also will be some items for sale. A silent auction, featuring American Indian jewelry, will be conducted.

The Pelathe Center will announce its new focus and hours during the event.

The center will continue to operate the Transitional Housing Program and the food pantry; however, all other services will be discontinued.

The center’s board of directors recently approved rental use of the top floor of the building, which includes four offices, a workroom, reception and meeting areas, and a restroom.

The food pantry is open to income-eligible community members. Pelathe also is seeking volunteers for yard work, building maintenance and donations for the food pantry.
