Michael Whitten received his Eagle Scout award in ceremonies May 27 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. He is a member of Troop 64, chartered to Eudora Lions Club.

Whitten began his scouting career with Pack 3064 and earned his Arrow of Light in 2000.

As a Boy Scout he earned 30 merit badges and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scout honor camping society. He earned his Eagle rank Dec. 10, 2006.

For his Eagle project he designed and built a park sign for Paschal Fish Park in Eudora.

He attends Kansas University and is the son of Tom and Arlene Whitten.
