State funding and retention of quality faculty members topped the list of challenges for Kansas University in the coming year, said people who responded to a Journal-World survey. Asked what would be the greatest tests for the university in 10 to 15 years, 84 percent cited financial support, and 83 percent listed acquisition and retention of top faculty people.
