Old Home Town – 25 years ago

The Kansas football team had finished its season with a 2-7-1 record in Don Fambrough’s second four-year stint as head coach and evidence was that a coaching change was in the wind. KU had gone 1-5-1 in the conference and had lost to Missouri in Columbia by a 10-16 score in its finale. Eventually Mike Gottfried was brought in as KU coach and lasted three seasons before moving to the Pittsburgh job. He was followed by Glen Mason at KU.
