KU player submits diversion application

Briscoe applies for diversion

Dezmon Briscoe, a leading receiver on this year's Kansas University football team, has submitted a diversion application to Douglas County District Court.

Briscoe was to have his first appearance today, but he is scheduled to appear at 1 p.m. Jan. 2 to hear whether his diversion application has been accepted.

Small problem: Jan. 2 is the date of the Fiesta Bowl, which is increasingly being considered the bowl game in which KU will most likely play.

The diversion application is in response to charges of theft by deception, less than $1,000, stemming from a June incident at Wal-Mart.

Obviously DeZeMon has a future with the NFL. Hack can help out with any Wally World problems. Let him go play.

I'm all for second chances but if he screws up again give him the boot.
