From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 24, 1907: “The Boston Evening Transcript gives new comparative registration figures for 41 colleges and universities in the United States. Of the larger institutions, the University of Kansas has made the highest percentage of gain and is third on the entire list, two very small schools ranking first and second. : Educators are noting that many students now are going to schools such as our Kansas University rather than the traditional bigger colleges and universities. That is good because it is calling more attention to the quality of an education that a student can get in Kansas.”
