KU professor creates ‘Fall from Grace’ score

Bryan Kip Haaheim, KU associate professor of music composition/music theory, has composed the soundtrack for "Fall from Grace," a documentary created by Ryan Jones, KU film student, about the Topeka-based Phelps family. The documentary will air on the Showtime network in December.

Haaheim composed and produced the musical score for flute, violin, guitar, fretless electric bass, percussion and piano. He was joined on the soundtrack by KU faculty member Ellen Bottorff, piano, and KU music graduates Annie Gnojek, flute, and Amy Gowans, violin.

"Fall from Grace" will air on the following days and times:

¢ 9 p.m. Dec. 4, Showtime

¢ 6:15 p.m. Dec. 5, Showtime Too

¢ 7:20 p.m. Dec. 6, Showtime Showcase

¢ 4:45 p.m. Dec. 10, Showtime Showcase

¢ 4:15 p.m. Dec. 13, Showtime

The documentary also will be available on On Demand from Dec. 5 to Jan. 1 as well as through Netflix.

observar says, "... The subject alone should be grounds for a failing grade."

Actually it should be a good grade if the documentary is well done. A lot of things besides subject matter factor into a grade for a research project - the documentary in this case.

Why is anyone making a documentary on pure trash like the Phelps. The subject alone should be grounds for a failing grade.
