The latest federal cutbacks in Medicare payments were expected to bring a loss of dollars in the coming year for Law-rence Memorial Hospital – to the tune of at least $300,000. Hospitals would have to make up for the lost funding somewhere, and officials said the heaviest costs probably would be picked up by patients with private insurance plans.
