Sale at ECM building to promote fair trade

Lawrence Fair Trade will be host to a Fair Trade Holiday Market this month at the Ecumenical Christian Ministries, 1204 Oread, in Lawrence.

The sale will feature fairly traded handicrafts, apparel, coffee, chocolate, dry goods and much more from artisans in developing regions around the world, as well as gifts handmade by local producers.

The hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 1 p.m. to

7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Nov. 26-29.

Fair trade is an alternative trade that ensures products are produced in safe, healthy working conditions and that artisans have access to health care and education.
