Two Lawrence women face charges in Douglas County District Court alleging that last weekend they kidnapped five people, including two children.

Runita J. Bell, 32, and Annetta D. Moten, 40, made their first court appearances Thursday afternoon.

Each woman faces one count of aggravated kidnapping, in connection with a report in which a 22-year-old Lawrence woman said she was held against her will and injured last weekend.Lawrence police said that woman was held for more than 15 hours inside an apartment in the 2500 block of Redbud Lane.

The two also face charges of kidnapping four other people.

A judge set Moten’s bond at $125,000. Bell’s bond was set higher – at $150,000 – because she previously had been convicted of a felony. Both women are due back in court Monday to set a preliminary hearing date.
