The Kansas football team currently stood in second place behind Oklahoma in the Big Eight race with a 4-1 record after a 12-8 loss at Colorado. Overall, Pepper Rodgers’ first KU team had a 4-4 record.

Kansas University law student Richard Bacon continued to draw accolades from aircraft experts for his handling of a wheels-up landing he had been forced to make in Denver while flying to the Kansas-Colorado football game in Boulder. The put-down had been made, with great skill, said officials, in a wheat field. Bacon was a former KU fullback.
