Benefit to aid transplant patient

A benefit dinner is scheduled to help a 24-year-old Lawrence resident who will have a double lung transplant in the coming months at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

The fundraiser will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday at McLouth High School in Room 148

All proceeds will go to Heidi Karn-Barker, a 2001 McLouth High School graduate, who has cystic fibrosis. The money will help pay for medical and living expenses in St. Louis.

The meal is being held in conjunction with Late Night with the Bulldogs, an event showcasing the MHS boys and girls basketball teams.
