4-H and FCE news

Vinland FCE will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Paula Johnson. The lesson by Mariann Bradley will be “What Do You Pack When You Pursue A Dream?”

¢Kanwaka FCE will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Presbyterian Manor. The lessons will be “Woman to Woman,” given by Muriel Manness, and “What Do You Pack When You Pursue A Dream?” by Ann Haley. Aliene Bieber is hostess and Mary Czupor is co-hostess.

¢The monthly meeting of the Clinton Eagles 4-H Club was conducted on Nov. 3 at the Heine home and was followed by a potluck. The meeting was called to order by President Kathlyn Heine. County Council Representative Mary Garzillo told the club the council had appointed new committees and officers at the last meeting. Historian Adam Spurling announced that any pictures of club activities he could have would be appreciated. Community Leader Lanaea Heine told the club the 4 Leaf Clover Club had switched set-up duty for the County Achievement Celebration with our club since the set-up was on the night of our meeting. She also announced the Bromelsick Christmas party would be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 2, and told the club they need to be thinking about a skit for County Club Days. Festival of Trees leader Denise Snodgrass announced the theme for the tree this year would be based on the book “Stranger In The Woods.” Denise also told the club there would be a crafting session from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Charles Garzillo announced the club’s Maple Leaf Float won second place in the float competition. Congratulations to all who participated. The program was recognition of officers and others. Recreation was a hayrack ride after the meeting and potluck. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 9 at the Clinton Church. All families should bring a dish to share. After the meeting the club will go caroling.

¢On Oct. 8 the Stull Busy Beavers celebrated their club Achievement Night. Thanks to the committee of the Booth, Jamison and Springer families, the club had a potluck supper and members were recognized for their participation in events throughout the year. The meeting was called to order by new President-elect Tori Booth. New club officers were initiated and ran the meeting. Club members talked on how they would promote 4-H for National 4-H week. Re-enrollment forms were passed out, and members were reminded of upcoming events.

On Oct. 20, the Leming family hosted a hayrack ride and wiener roast. Club members were recognized at the annual County Achievement Celebration on Nov. 4. Stull Busy Beavers recognized were Elizabeth Donaldson, Abigail Hale, Jessica Hale, Brandon Johnston, Kyle Johnston, Scott Johnston, Coy Leming, Kelsey Wulfkuhle and Madison Wulfkuhle.

The next club meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12. Parents of officers will be running the meeting. Several new families will have been to three meetings and will be initiated as well. The club will be deciding on a community service project for the December meeting.
