The Douglas County Historical Society will celebrate its 74th year Thursday night with a dinner and meeting.

The event begins with a social hour at 6 p.m. at Watkins Community Museum of History, 1047 Mass., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The business meeting will be held after dinner.

Museum director Rebecca Phipps will make a presentation titled “To Preserve and Honor: Celebrating 75 years of the Douglas County Historical Society.”

Reservations are required to attend the dinner, but visitors can attend the meeting.
