From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 4, 1907: "Many were watching in court today as Ed Stewart went on trial for hog-stealing. The principal item was whether the witnesses could be validated. Other criminal cases are not likely to be as interesting as this one. : Excitement is running high about the visit of the Nebraska football team here Nov. 9 and ticket sales may set some records. KU won at Nebraska last year, 8-6, and the northerners are reported to be eager to atone for that loss. : The Biederwolf revival is finally over and it was a rousing religious success. More than 400 converts were counted during the proceedings in the big tent in back of the Eldridge House."
