The Lawrence Hidden Valley Committee will conduct its annual meeting in conjunction with the Douglas County Girl Scout Service Unit meeting, set for 7 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway.

Nominees for election to the board of directors are Tammy Barta, Erin Bird and Karen Warner. Nominations also will be taken from the floor. All adult Girl Scouts registered in Douglas County may attend.

¢The Friends of Hidden Valley Inc. conducted its annual meeting Sept. 20 at Hidden Valley Camp in Lawrence. It was reported that more than 700 volunteer hours of service had been spent restoring the upper meadow following the completion of the city’s sewer line.

A new “stream walk” trail was dedicated, and the Habitat Education Project is well under way. The goal is to have habitat packets completed next year. New board members elected at the meeting were Jackie Bogner and Jill Baringer. Board members elected for another term were Jill Giele and David Reber.

New officers were elected at the Friends of Hidden Valley meeting Oct. 18. Jill Giele will become the new chairwoman, with Jill Baringer as vice chairwoman. Margaret Townsend will be the new secretary. Cris Bandle will continue as treasurer and webmaster.

Others on the board of directors are Cindy Riling, Jan McElwain, Robin Robertson, Flora Wyatt, Ellyn Owen, Lorene Mosser and outgoing chairwoman Durand Reiber.
