From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 2, 1907: Despite promises and predictions from most Kansas people of a victory, Washburn handed KU its first loss in five games, by a score of 12-5, today in Topeka. Enthusiasm was high and competition fierce but the Topekans won in what they call ‘the biggest game of the season’ for both teams.
