Old Home Town – 100 years ago
From the Lawrence Daily World for May 28, 1907: “A local bad man and chronic drunkard caused quite a disturbance in Lecompton last night. He pushed men off the sidewalk, got knocked down twice, cut two people with a knife and then skipped out. There is no problem in identifying him for arrest and prosecution. : Dr. F.H. Snow, curator of the entomology Department at the University of Kansas, has just completed an inventory of all the species of North American insects contained in the KU collections. It is considered an outstanding feat.”
