There appeared a strong chance the Lawrence airport would have a commuter airline service by early 1968. TransCommuter Airlines of Wichita was the likely operator for the service. the Journal-World learned.

The city staff was working on plans for the development of acreage in Broken Arrow Park. The land had been donated to the city by the school board after it took needed areas for a junior high and grade school.
