Cincinnati ? The Cincinnati Reds recalled relief pitcher Gary Majewski from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday and optioned reliever Todd Coffey.

Majewski, acquired from the Washington Nationals in a trade that has resulted in a Reds’ grievance, was 1-1 with a 4.50 earned-run average in 15 relief appearances for Louisville this season.

He went on the disabled list late last season because of inflammation in his right shoulder, and was sent to Louisville near the end of spring training.

The Reds contend that Nationals general manager Jim Bowden failed to inform them about Majewski’s shoulder problems when they acquired the right-hander in an eight-player deal.
