Representatives from the Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau promoted the city and Douglas County as a visitor destination to attendees of the 2007 Kansas Sampler Festival, conducted May 4-6 in Garden City.

The festival is a project of the Kansas Sampler Foundation, which seeks to educate Kansans about the state, provide networking opportunities and support rural communities.

The bureau partnered with Lecompton and Baldwin City to represent Douglas County at the festival, which drew more than 7,400 attendees.
