First-half goal plenty for Perry Cyclones

Perry Cyclone forward Dakota Rector scored an early goal to get things going during Saturday’s Kaw Valley soccer association action at Youth Sports Inc. As it turned out, Rector’s goal was all the Cyclones needed as they defeated Arsenal, 3-0.

Rector added a pair goals in the second half, including a coast-to-coast score as time wound down.

Following an Arsenal corner kick, Rector intercepted the ball in the penalty box and proceeded to drive the length of the field, before putting the ball in the back of the net.

Arsenal mounted several attacks on the goal, but never could find the goal.
