Wichita ? Seabury Academy tennis duo Scott King and Simon Thompson were unable to notch a victory at the Class 3-2-1A state tournament Friday at the Riverside Tennis Center.

King and Thompson lost to top-seeded Jon Dunne and Connor Anderson from Wichita Collegiate, 6-1, 6-1, in the first round, before falling to Brandt Rogers and Sterling Cottrell of Meade, 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 in the consolation bracket. They finished 3-9 as a doubles team.

“They battled pretty well,” Seabury coach Eric Nelson said. “They had a winnable match in the second round, but they just kind of ran out of steam in the third set.”
