Osness Enshrined: Wayne Osness of Lawrence is one of four persons named this year to the Kansas Relays Hall of Fame. Osness, who has served as a meet official or volunteer for more than 40 years, was enshrined with Relays founder Phog Allen, former Topeka prep coach Joe Schrag and former Oklahoma State pole vaulter Joe Dial.
¢ Brawner Titlist: Wally Brawner of Tonganoxie won the men’s 65-69 age group at the Olathe Heart and Sole 10K and finished third at the Trolley Run in Kansas City, Mo. Lawrence’s Dee Boeck won the women’s 55-59 category in the Olathe event and was third in the Trolley Run. Also in Olathe, Lawrence’s Jeff Stein was second in the men’s 25-29 division and Celeste Leonardi third in the women’s 60-65 bracket.

¢ City Golf Deadline: Early entry deadline is June 22 for the city golf championships on June 30 at Eagle Bend and July 1 at Alvamar Public. Fees for the men’s, women’s, senior and super senior divisions will climb from $100 to $150 on June 23. Anyone who lives or works in Douglas County or belongs to a city golf club is eligible.
¢ Rebels Champs: Kansas Rebels U-13 baseball won a tournament last weekend in Branson, Mo. Team members are Blake Bergman, Anthony Buffalomeat, Zach Losey, David Pierce, C.J. Roush, Montana Samuels, Tyler Self, Cody Stanclift, Chandler Thomann, Elliot Vaughn, Jake Vinoverski and Wyatt Woods. Coaches are Doug Woods, Randy Samuels, Mike Stanclift and Ray Buffalomeat.
