Old Home Town – 40 years ago
George B. Powers of Wichita, a 1928 Kansas University graduate, received the distinguished alumni citation, with honors, from the KU School of Law.
Kansas University was the site of a sizable state drug abuse conference in an effort to determine the extent of drug use by students in the area. One of the salient points emphasized that alcohol abuse remained overwhelmingly the No. 1 “drug” problem for youths of high school age on up.
