Anne McEnroe, Lawrence, has received the Alfred M. Wolfe Fellowship from the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. McEnroe, a senior at Kansas University, joins 60 students nationwide in receiving a fellowship and $5,000. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in classics at the University of Bristol. McEnroe is the daughter of Bruce McEnroe and Michelle Tamburini.

¢Kate Rogge, Lawrence, has won the Kansas State Historical Society’s Lela Barnes Archival Internship. The internship will provide Rogge with an eight-week summer work experience and a $2,500 stipend. Rogge has been a technical writer and editor in information technology and Web site design and management for 35 years.

The annual award is designed to provide work experience for a graduate student interested in pursuing an archival career.

¢Jing Li has been selected to receive a 2007 Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship. She is among 60 Kansas students chosen to receive the four-year scholarship, from 207 applicants. Each honoree will receive $1,500 for the 2007-2008 academic year. Li is a senior at Free State High School.

¢Mallory Richardson, Law-rence, plans to graduate with highest distinction from Kansas University on May 20, with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. She completed the University Honors Program and is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa academic honor societies. She was a member of the KU cross country team for one season and competed in Big 12 and NCAA regional meets. She plans to attend the KU Medical School in Kansas City, Kan., beginning in July. Richardson is the daughter of Earl and Teresa Richardson, Lawrence.

¢Several area students at Kansas University have been selected to carry banners during commencement next month. The honorees include Lester Big Goose Jr. and Anne McEnroe, both of Lawrence; and Judee S. Herring, Winchester. Big Goose is a bachelor’s degree candidate in social work. McEnroe is a candidate to receive a bachelor’s degree in classical languages and English. Herring is a bachelor’s degree candidate in nursing. KU’s 135th commencement is set for May 20.

¢Joy M. Jackson plans to graduate from Kansas City, Kansas Area Technical School as a licensed practical nurse on May 17. She intends to continue her studies for another year to receive a Bachelor of Science in nursing and become a registered nurse. She is the daughter of Delores Jackson, Lawrence.

¢Jenilee Morrison, Lawrence, is a finalist for the Faculty Award at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. The honor is the most significant distinction presented to a graduating senior at the college. Morrison is an Oxbridge science and bioethics major.

¢Derek and Anna Inzerillo Weiner, Columbia, Mo., announce the birth of their daughter, Sophia Elizabeth Weiner, born March 19, 2007. She weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces. She has a brother, Brett, 6, and a sister, Allison, 3.

Maternal grandparents are Dr. Carl and Mary Inzerillo, Lawrence. Paternal grandparents are Steve and Donna Weiner, Overland Park. Great-grandfathers are Andrew Inzerillo, Kansas City, Mo., and Hubert Wolken, Jefferson City, Mo.

¢Dominic and Patti Leistner Inzerillo, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Eva Maria Inzerillo, born April 4, 2007. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce.

Paternal grandparents are Dr. Carl and Mary Inzerillo, Lawrence. Maternal grandparents are Leslie Hinks and Bill Freeman, Atlanta, and Charles and Hitomi Leistner, Fairfield, Calif. Her great-grandfather is Andrew Inzerillo, Kansas City, Mo.

¢Clayton and Marian Broyles, Frontenac, announce the birth of a son, Jack Nelson Broyles, born April 13, 2007, in Pittsburg. He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.

Grandparents are David and Terry Broyles, Humboldt, and Rick and Sharon Daniels, Lawrence. Great-grandparents are Jim and Irene Broyles, Humboldt; Bonnie Johnson, Iola; Leo and Leona Feldhaus, Howard, S.D.; and Clinton and Thelma Daniels, Lawrence.

¢Chris and Katie Bieker, Lawrence, announce the birth of a daughter, Mary Abigail “Abbey” Bieker, born April 6, 2007, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Her maternal grandparents are Phil and Mary Griffin. Paternal grandparents are Taft and Barbara Yates. Great-grandparents are Bernadine Stanley, Anita Griffin, and Albert and Bertha Bieker.

¢Several area high school seniors graduated from Seminary in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They include Carly Young and Laura Pouliot, Baldwin High School; Summer Baker and Todd Lee, Free State High School; and Kazi Fukuyasu, Tonganoxie High School, who all received four-year diplomas. Also honored were Uliti Fangupo, of Lawrence High School, who earned a three-year certificate. Kayle Price and Jeremy Peaches, also of LHS, earned a Certificate of Participation. Seminary is the church’s four-year course of religious education for high school students. The group was honored Friday in Topeka.

¢The 105th annual Overbrook Rural High School Alumni Banquet is set for May 26 at Overbrook United Methodist Church. All who attended or taught at the school are invited. The classes of 1927, 1932, 1937, 1947, 1957 and 1967 will be honored. Cost is $10 per person, payable in advance. Reservations may be sent to ORHS Alumni Association, P.O. Box 277, Overbrook, KS 66524. Please include names of those attending and year of graduation. The registration deadline is May 16.

¢Jazmine Coleman, Law-rence, has been selected to join the National Society of High School Scholars. The organization recognizes students who have achieved superior academic excellence. Coleman attends Lawrence High School.

¢Ryan Bodensteiner and Cortney Sostarich, both of Lawrence, were honored as 4.0 High Scholars at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. They have earned A’s in all their coursework at the university and were honored at the All-University Honors Convocation on April 22. Bodensteiner is a junior in the College of Education and Human Sciences, and Sostarich is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences.

¢Scott Wedman, Lawrence, received the George K. Mackie Jr. Memorial Scholarship for the fall 2007 semester at Pittsburg State University. Wedman, a freshman who is studying education, is the son of Larry and Linda Wedman, Lawrence.

¢Stuart James, Lawrence, was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society at Neosho County Community College. James is majoring in accounting.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society serving two-year colleges.
