A Eudora man suffered injuries Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident on Kansas Highway 10 east of Lawrence.

At 11:15 a.m., Brad E. Torrence, 26, Eudora, lost control of his 1999 Dodge Avenger while headed east just past the city limits, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. His car spun out of control and struck the back of a 2006 Freightliner semitrailer, driven by 45-year-old Manuel Gallegos, Roeland Park. Gallegos was not injured.

Torrence was not wearing his seat belt at the time and was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, according to the accident report.

LMH spokeswoman Belinda Rehmer said Wednesday afternoon that Torrence had been treated and released.

Arrrgh!

Not sure HOW this happened, but this comment was supposed to go on the "bible" comment and NOT to go along with this story.

But still, it kinda fits.

But to the injured man, I hope your recovery is swift and painless and my comments were NOT intended directly at you.

But please, wear your seatbelt next time man. The world is a better place with you in it.

Well...I will start a life of literal translation of the bible (without cherry picking) when my community members begin a life of literal translation of local and state traffic laws. 1. Verily I say unto you, you shall come to a complete stop at an intersection mark'ed with a stop sign. Thou shalt not roll through.

or...

  1. On the 14th day, the lord made pinky fingers on the left hand of "man" for which to utilize the turn signal.

or

  1. Leaveth not, your children in a parked car, unattended.

The bible, rules of the road, employee handbooks...these are all documents that have been created because humans cannot be trusted to act properly unless its written down. So for every zealot who wants to use the bible to justify their agenda, please continue. Hopefully you'll turn to the "wrong" page for a gentle reminder from above that says we're all supposed to get along.
