A record high spring semester enrollment of 14,828 was announced for Kansas University, up 890 from the previous spring. There were 13,649 on the Lawrence campus and 1,058 at the medical center in Kansas City.

Patrons of Baldwin School District 348 were preparing to vote on a $1.25 million bond issue to help finance construction of a new high school and remodeling of the present high school building for other uses.

C.W. Davenport, a rural Lawrence orchard operator, demonstrated a special new high-level pruning saw he had developed to be used from his tractor.
