‘Pacman’ could be charged
Las Vegas – Tennessee Titans star Adam “Pacman” Jones could face felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from a triple shooting at a strip club in February.
Jones would face a felony charge of coercion and misdemeanor threat and battery charges in the 5 a.m. shooting at Minxx, police Lt. George Castro said Monday.
Castro said the request for charges will be submitted to Clark County district attorney David Roger no later than the end of the week. Roger will be asked to consider charges against 23-year-old Jones; Robert Reid, 37, of Carson, Calif.; and Sadia Morrison, 24, of New York. Castro described Reid and Morrison as friends of Jones.
Owners meet in Phoenix
Phoenix – The NFL got some business done at its league meetings Monday, adopting an expanded program of revenue sharing designed to help lower-revenue clubs. The complex arrangement requires that a team must be spending 65 percent or more of its revenues on player costs before it qualifies for the separate pool of $430 million being made available, retroactive to 2006.
A franchise also must have gate revenues equal to at least 90 percent of the league average. Then, the franchise could not have been sold in the 2006-09 period.
Faulk officially hangs it up
Phoenix – After sitting out last season because of a knee injury, 34-year old running back Marshall Faulk officially announced his retirement Monday. The 34-year old Faulk worked last year for the NFL Network.
Saints to stay through 2010
Baton Rouge, La. – The New Orleans Saints will stay in Louisiana through the 2010 season, reaching an agreement with state officials.
Eagles acquire LB Spikes
Philadelphia – The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb from the Buffalo Bills on Monday night for defensive tackle Darwin Walker and a conditional draft pick in 2008.
