From the Lawrence Daily World for March 26, 1907: “Lawrence is to have no Salvation Army anti-suicide club, at least for some time. The Army here has too few officers to make such an undertaking practicable without neglecting too much of the other worthwhile work done here. This movement may be needed in larger cities but it would be too much of a drain locally. : The Lawrence Committee has called a meeting at FAA Hall to consider holding an old-fashioned country fair in Lawrence next fall. Much has been talked about this issue in the past but nothing much has been done.”
