FCE news

The Family and Community Education Council met March 6. Margaret Fuston, president, announced that the northeast area meeting will be April 5 in Manhattan. She handed out information and registration forms about District Day, which will be May 10 at the Kansas State Historical Society in Topeka.

The program will be “Historical Railroading and Duties of Santa Fe Employees” presented by David Calwell.

Alvena Tuggle announced that the FCE Spring Tea will be at 1 p.m. April 20 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St., Building 21 North. The program will be “First Impressions” presented by Beth Hecht.

Susan Krumm, family and consumer sciences agent, discussed a family nutrition program and requested that all FCE units donate money for the program. The federal government will match donations, she said.

Aliene Bieber and Lola Ford volunteered to oversee and demonstrate at the Extension Health Booth at the Baldwin Community Wellness Festival.

Darlene Bright announced that the next Red Cross Blood Drive will be April 19 at First Christian Church, with Stull and Willmyra units furnishing cookies.

The next FCE Council meeting will be April 10 in Deal Six Auditorium at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.
