Tabla player to perform at Baker

Sandip Burman, a world-renowned tabla player, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rice Auditorium on Baker University’s campus, Baldwin City.

Burman, a native of Durgapur, India, combines Indian rhythms with modern jazz on the tabla, a pair of drums played with the hands. He has played at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Street Scene in San Diego and House of Blues Chicago.
