Clinton Lake will be the site of a youth turkey hunt on April 7.

Youths ages 10 through 16 are eligible. If the young hunter does not have access to an adult guide, one will be provided.

Hunters will be drawn from a pool of applicants and assigned to a particular area where hunting is not normally permitted.

The hunters must carry a special permit issued by the Corps of Engineers. All hunting must be in compliance with Kansas statutes.

Applications are available at the Corps visitor center, or go to clinton@usace.army.mil to request one.

The deadline for submitting applications is 4 p.m. Friday. They can be dropped off at the Clinton Lake project office or mailed to the Corps at 872 North 1402 Rd., Lawrence, 66049.
