KU’s Short sets record at NCAA swim meet

? Kansas University senior Jenny Short broke a school record in the 200-yard backstroke Saturday during the final day of the NCAA Swimming and Diving competition at the Minnesota Aquatics Center.

Short, one of the Jayhawks’ team captains, recorded a time of 1 minute, 58.82 seconds, landed her a 32nd-place finish and a season-best time, beating her showing at the Big 12 Conference Championships by nearly a full second (1:59.62).

In other Saturday competition, sophomore Danielle Herrmann recorded a time of 2:17.40 in the 200-yard breaststroke, good for a 32nd-place finish, while freshman Ashley Robinson finished 29th in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:31.14).
