It appeared Ed Collister, a local attorney and investor, was the only person officially interested in helping the city renovate the Lawrence Opera House into a performing art center. However, two city commissioners said they knew of at least two others who might want to tackle the job even though they had not yet submitted letters on the subject. Mayor Marci Francisco said she favored an extension of the deadline for action on the issue.
