Kansas University freshman Jordan Scott was named Big 12 Male Track and Field Freshman of the Year, the conference announced Thursday.

Scott, a Watkinsville, Ga., native, was the Big 12 indoor pole vault champion, after clearing 17-51â2 to earn 10 points for the men’s team. He’s ranked 14th nationally.
