Money from classified staff salaries would be used to pad university faculty wages under a new recommendation made by the Kansas Senate Ways and Means Committee. The Senate’s budget-writing panel had proposed that faculty salaries be increased by 7.5 percent at state regents schools. But the latest recommendation suggested that the legislature consider at the end of the session appropriating an enrichment fund which could be used to add to the faculty salary increase.
