CHAMPAIGN, ILL. ? Illinois basketball player Rich McBride pleaded guilty Thursday to driving under the influence.

The 6-foot-3 senior guard was arrested Sept. 29 and charged with DUI and improper traffic lane usage in Savoy, south of Champaign. Judge Richard Klaus said Thursday the traffic lane charge would be dropped.

McBride’s arrest resulted in a four-game suspension. Asked after the hearing whether the school might take further disciplinary action, sports information director Kent Brown said, “Not at this time.”
