Royals ink three more draft picks

? The Kansas City Royals have signed three more draft picks, all from the top five rounds.

On Thursday, the Royals announced the signing of second-round pick Sam Runion, third-round selection Danny Duffy and fifth-round pick Adrian Ortiz.

Runion, a right-hander out of A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville, N.C., has been assigned to the rookie team in Surprise, Ariz.

Duffy, a left-hander from Cabrillo High School in Lompoc, Calif., has been assigned to the Arizona League.

And Ortiz, an outfielder from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, who started three seasons at Pepperdine, is with the rookie club at Idaho Falls.

The Royals also signed six undrafted free agents: right-handers George Biddle, Robert Hastry, Matthew Jensen and Edwin Mieles; outfielder Ian Craze; and second baseman Zechariah Evangel.
